Edward Vaughn was born 235 years ago to date in Prince Edward County, Virginia, (1770) and wasn’t turned until thirty-five (1805)—at which time he was a landowner of renown and slaveholder in Montgomery County, formed from Monroe in 1816, Alabama. The Vaughn Family were powerful and well connected in Montgomery—this would lead to a Ventrue sire selecting Edward for embrace and teaching him the ways of Invictus--to continue living in the ways that he always had. Edward Vaughn’s requiem is one of disillusionment from where and what he once was. The decisions he made were based of the catastrophe of 1870 as he turned a century in age and outlived any believable measure of life that his family could justify and survive sleeping at night. He left his family to travel as a nomad from Asia--through Africa--to the Pacific Isles for thirty years until he finally sailed to the shores of Australia in 1901. What he ran from he found halfway around the world among the landowners of this new large expanse with Aboriginal slaves. He knew then, there was need to change and value to unlife must be found. The cycle was empty. He could see the need for value was much greater than he had imagined. The degeneration of vampiric dominance over the centuries left nothing but the hollow undead husk with human behaviorisms to imitate pale illuminations of self—vampiric ego and feigned direction. Indeed, it was his sublime understanding discussed with the Cardinal Alexandre Valreaux of Sydney, Australia that brought about his renewal—how much can one accumulate in an eternity? What value does that possess when the vertical axis rises and falls—-power ebbs and flows—-wealth amasses and diminishes and the horizontal line goes on forever? Cardinal Valreaux was embraced around the 1700s choosing the Lancea Sanctum and was Archbishop of Sydney since 1811 (now Cardinal). A friend and confidant to E.V., they would discover the necessity of spiritual growth through discussion of sides over many years until Edward Vaughn converted to Lancea Sanctum and was appointed Bishop under the Archbishop. The combination of the two together made a powerful alliance and soon new ideas for a government would spring forth from the debate of philosophies both possessed for E.V. But Edward would not stay forever, he was still searching and would travel again to his homelands. How true even now—the value of things human that the walking dead hold too like mortals who shiver in the cold, and smell the foul stench of death, or feel the need for procreation. The loss of such is not pallor but the birth of the immortal! And by way of origin into the damned live to rise above the meager mass of a single lifetime. It is by way of tradition that kindred can further their outcome and the knowledge that kindred are above mortals. And so is the direction of today, the meaning of action for tomorrow, the purpose of centuries of feeding the beast of its blood hold. When Edward Vaughn witnessed the cholera outbreak in Montgomery-Capitol via media sources from New Orleans. It was the last piece of the puzzle as if he had climbed a mountain and had reached the base from which he had started. Indeed, New Orleans was a depraved city of empty husks warranting his guidance and introspection, but after so many years how could he have forgotten where it had started from? The catastrophe was a calling—-however detrimental to hundred of thousands of mortals—-it would bring forth his investiture of his past. It is in the valley that the pillar of the South East should be seen by all.
