Cassius has only recently begun circulating again in Kindred society. Its apparent that he once knew several Sanctified personalities, but aside from the respect given to annointed clergy, he seems to be equally at ease with nomadic Damned as well as fixed figures of power. Some say, he's too much of a psychopath to note distinctions like that. Others say he's just too old, too jaded, to care. The last hundred years have seen him out of society, but before that there is really only rumor. Perhaps he's a neonate, riding on similarities with ancient kindred that are only half-remembered due to the Fog of Ages. Whatever the truth, Cassius does not utilize such things for open gains in power. Until very recently, he seemed content to travel with and protect Priests and Cardinals, Inquisitors and Legates alike.
There was a time that it was said,
"If you are Damned and heed the Testament, when you travel he will protect you. If you bear the annointing to do God's purpose, he will die to keep you on the path. If you stand in the way of heaven's mandate for the Damned on earth, he will destroy you."

The Cardinal is dead. Will faith fall with him? Shortly after being reunited with his sire after years (whispers say centuries) apart, the Grand Ballo falls to chaos, leaving a Cardinal destroyed. The brood of Callaghan struggle to find themselves amidst the pain of loss and the liberation from guiding hands. Cassius had intended on residing in the longest new world residence of his sire to learn from him. Now, he stays to maintain that which the Cardinal had built. In the process, he finds the rubble of the Sanctified that are left behind. Do they turn to him and see hope? Or only reminders of their loss? In light of their needs, the son is anointed as was the father. Will it light the way, or draw down the end?

In the recent void left by Cardinal Callaghan, Cassius may have found purpose. He is anointed finally, laying down the sword in favor of the word of Longinus. Time will tell if a warrior can inspire as well as murder.
[edit] Physical Description:
Cassius the Damned is a slight but muscular figure. As he stands, he appears reedy, ready to bend in the wind. But as he moves blades through the air, his muscles flex and writhe, revealing a powerful body strength well-hidden by such a small height.
His hair is dark and long. So long in fact that most say it should get in his way. Tips of his strands cascade to the small of his back, yet it does not bother him, only adding to his almost angelic appearance.
His eyes shine green like sea foam on an overcast day, and his smooth child's face bring such striking looks to bear that one might think he was a young woman. This partial androgyny is emphasized by his grace. Only his overt power marks him as definitively masculine. (Striking Looks x4)
His mouth is the most passive aspect of this Damned creature. His lips a little too full for the men of today, and a little thin for the elegant women. His lips seldom convey sneer or smile, responding most often to the emotion that shatters his calm veneer the fullest: rage. The instantenousness of his anger has been commented on by many a priest. It seems he enjoys destroying the enemies of the Sanctified, above and beyond the call of duty...
Overall, he appears as a cherub, an angel. His apparent innocence is a gift of his blood, his sire, and his culture, he has been known to say. He refuses to elaborate.
He is occasionally approached by young members of the unaligned and lascivious vampires of other covenants, on account of his angelic looks. They often get more than they bargain for, as Cassius is an adherent of the Byzantine Creed which has no restrictions on relations between the Damned. However, no such trysts have been confirmed.

Quotes Fiore dei Liberi often, and has been known to use Italian swordsmanship when utilizing a single longsword or rapier.
Has also been known to discourse on the merit and worth of the techniques taught by the French swordsman Charles Bisnard. Occasionally he will let slip a quote or two attributed to the gentleman that no one can verify.
Strangely, despite his obvious favoritism of Western swordsmanship, he is fond of discussing Japanese methods as taught by Miyamoto Musashi, the Kensai of Japan. Oftentimes he will mention the respect he has for Japanese Sanctified, though most of it he has come to by their reputations alone.
