Marcel's last will

When this is read to you all, this means that I am no longer around. I have tried to do my duty before God, my Blood and my Domain and I have failed.

But I don’t wish to speak of these things tonight. This will is meant to give away gifts to those who are close to me and those who were important in my existence.

First and foremost I think of the Brothers of my Clan. To the highly esteemed lord Delrio, my priscus, I leave two cell-phones. One of these is special. I advice my priscus to ask Brother Desmet for advice about this. To sir Thielemann I leave my cross, my statuette of Holy Mary, my bible and my testament of Longinus. I hope it will help him to find the Truth. To sir Moens I leave my computer. He can use some artificial intelligence.

To Lord Prince Achmed Ab Haram I turn to ask him to apologise for the way he has treated certain inhabitants of Domein Limburg. Show that you’re a man of honour, take responsibility for your actions and set your mistakes straight. I have given my word to mrs. Karen Stoffels that her honour will be purified. I ask that you don’t let a brother be an oath-breaker in death.

Next I think of my brothers and sisters of my covenant. To Monseigneur de Villenfagne de Vogelsanck I leave my faithful servant, Luc Matthijssen. The car that was a gift from brother Desmet, I give back to him. I thank him from my heart and I’m sorry that I didn’t get to use it more. I want to ask my brothers and sisters not to mourn my passing. Together with the faithful who died so many years ago in the Noviciate, I will watch over them.

I won’t forget the Court of Limburg either. They are very rich already and a man like me doesn’t have anything to offer to them. Yet there is one of them for whom I have a gift. To Lord Marquis Harpy Herzèt I offer the medallion with the portrait of my late mother. This silver hart can perhaps fill a void in his chest.

To my dear friend Els Swennen I leave my money and other earthly possessions. It isn’t much, but I don’t doubt that she will make fruitful use of it.

Last but certainly not least, I think of my good friend, the esteemed lord deputy Takeda Kyuzo, Knight in the Order of the Silver Dragon. I don’t have much to offer to my friend, but it’s given from the heart. To him I leave my two good suits and my two good caps. For special occasions.

To Cardinal de Béthune and Grandmaster Ektor I leave my blood that is on their hands. May they as yet pay the price for it.

To all other Kindred whom I have known, I can only give my best wishes. May fate look kindly on you.
