Menitrean Creed
From LanceaSanctum
This is a minor creed within the Lancea Sanctum. Its background loosly reflects the Christian aspect of the mortal Manichaen faith, with its metaphor of light and darkness for good and evil. The creators based the creed on the writings of Menitreas, a mortal man who was profoundly moved by the Dark Father and his teachings, and who penned his beliefs during the early years of the Cult of Longinus.
The Menitrean Creed has aroused controversy for its association with the Luminarian bloodline. Both were created by the Light Wielders, an historic coterie that existed in the time of the Fifth Crusade. In December 2007, this minor creed came into question (again) as a potential heresy. By the end of January 2008, the assorted declarations of that type had been withdrawn.
Credo:
We believe in one divinity, an almighty force that sits in residence with the host of heaven, a Father whose divinity is beyond mortal definition. We aver that divinity is plural, as a God in the form or forms that an unlimitable God will take and in his angels, a collective heavenly power whose allegory is Light.
And we believe that the forces of heaven array against their enemies, a wicked and plural power, a Prince of Darkness and his dark angels mirroring heaven, whose seemings are beyond the ability that any mortal, by hubris, may seek to illustrate. No tongue upon Earth can capture or define the form and the majesty and the glory of the heavens or anything within them.
We hold that the conflict of Light and Darkness plays out upon this Earth, and hanging in the balance is every soul of every mortal creature upon its face. We reject that there is any other divinity, and aver that all power upon the earth, in the sea and in the air of it, flows from the divine. We affirm that from God, for his purpose, flow all energies; from the holiest of powers to the most unholy and pagan, existing only with permitance of the divine will and for the divine plan.
We believe that the Roman Centurion Loginos Sdapeze, called Longinus by history, the Dark Father of us all, received the curse of vampirism to serve the divine plan. Where mortals may fail to see where Darkness walks the earth, there vampires will, as cursed shadows, define for Humanity that which is not the Light. We believe in the divine will whose followers comprise the Cult of Longinus.
We believe that the Sanctified political body called the Lancea Sanctum, through its rites and practices, is charged with shepherding of the Cult of Longinus, so that the faithful may attend the divine purpose of vampirism until the ending of the world. We believe in the Traditions and Testament of Longinus and the Sanguineous Catechism and in the Apostolica of the covenant and in its Ecclesia.
We do not condemn any Creed or Augustinian that, by righteous calling to the Light, serves the will of the divine through blood and shadow. We affirm all of the faithful in Longinus, whose teachings are recited by his disciple Monachus and by his servant Menitreus and by every dark predator who so glorifies the Light.
The holy truth is this.
