On Taking a Hard Line, from Embrace to Redemption

The SHAMEFUL act of the embrace was nesacary for or coven to grow. At the time of Monachus our coven was small. We were threatened on all sides The Camarilla, the crones, and the others. We have grown since then. The Lancea Sanctum is respected in many cities around the world. If our numbers need to be increased as they did in the early years of the conven then so be it. but look around there are countless unaligned, Carthians, and Invictus to bring to the Faith. Perhaps they have no desire to be in the priesthood but the church need Lay people as much as we need priests. We all agree that Amaranth is wrong and should not be done. The testement of longinus says:
"With the power of Damnation comes limitation. The Damned hide among those who still enjoy God’s love, making themselves known only to exemplify fear. The Damned shall make none of their own, for such is a judgment of soul that is the purview only of God. The Damned shall suffer yet more should they slay a fellow to take his soul from him."
And yet we still embrace, Against the written law of the Testement. If we are to break this law then how long till we start breaking other laws. By way of example let me tell you of a heresy.
We all know the 4th cannon. Regarding the abomination of the Amaranth:
"Diablerie is a sin because by consuming the soul of another vampire, the diablerist prevents the victim from either being judged by God or seeking absolution from the Returned Jesus Christ during the Second Coming. When one commits diablerie, he degrades his own soul, thereby inhibiting his ability to function in a moral manner. He increases the potency of his blood, but in exchange he hastens his descent into torpor, a period of time possibly lasting for centuries during which he cannot fulfill his divine role."
Now some Heritics have said "it is a SHAMEFUL nessacity to "eat the sins of another." When one has grown tied of their Requiem. They should seek out a "Sin Eater" to prevent them from burning in hell. The "Sin Eater" Diableries the seeker and the seeker is "released" in to oblivion. The "Sin Eater" is strengthened to carry out the Divine work or the Predator. This is a heresy and would not be tolorated.
Yet we have Bastardized the Canon in a similar way.
Again The Embrace was necessary when our coven was a Fledgling. Our number were fightningly small. As we grew have grown the pressing NEED to embrace has dwindled. Yes There are time that The Third Canon,need to be invoked and childe embraced but let us not forget that it is SHAMEFUL to Embrace.
Yet we keep doing it. Why do we insisit on creating childe instead of evanglizing and recruiting. Are we so full of Sloth that we take the easy way out even at the price on our souls?
The Third Canon, is clear on The Embrace diminishing some aspects of the self; it actively consumes part of the sire's soul to enact the childe's damnation.
On the night after the Cruxification of Jesus When the first hunger burned in Longinus. The Three laws of The Damned were The Masquarde, The Embrace and Amaranth.
If there is a hope of Redemtation as spelled out in the Book of Eschaton For those unfamilar with the passage. A short reading..
“We are ageless,” said the disciple to the centurion. “Since we are ageless, I can conceive of existing until the Day of Judgment when God will take an accounting of everything. What will come of me, of the Damned on that day?”
The centurion stood and moved to a window. He opened it to reveal a steady rain descending from the sky. He cupped his hand and extended it into the rain. “God’s grace is infinite. But a part of His grace could fill all of the waterways in the world.”
“Then we might receive his forgiveness,” inquired the Discipline. “We will find redemption?”
The Centurion turned to face the disciple, his cupped hand now filled with water. He slowly closed his hand, pushing the water to empty onto the ground.
Then one must hold a hardline to the Testment and the tenents of the faith.
