On The Third Cannon

To my Brothers and Sisters within the Sanctum,
We are told that to Embrace is a shamefull nessecity and I agree with the Third Cannon whole heartedly. If you ask me why I will say for you to look at me. I am the product of a an Embrace by a Sire who left me to my own demise. I was left to fend for my food, I was left with the guilt for killing innocents. I felt as Lady MacBeth did when she looked upon her hands and saw the stains of blood upon them that would not leave. Though I was not plauged by the floating apparition. I was left to understand and comprehend something all to real. Something that glared back at me from the shadows, that pierced my sould everytime I looked into a mirror. The Beast. Many times have I contemplated the heavy sin of Embracing a Childe for my own. At one time I even contemplated bring my mortal wife over to this side. Everyday I thank God that I did not. I don't think I could live with myself if I had ever done a thing like that.
I only bring this up because today I am meeting more and more progeny who are Sireless. They are being adopted by city members who show them the ropes and take the sins they commit onto themselves. Then when they begin to manifest the powers of there blood they are handed over to Kindred who have similar powers to further there understanding of who they are. This should be another reminder of why we should not Embrace and pass on our Damnation to others. I remember times of being alone wishing I knew there were others out there like myself. Night after night knowing only killing and surviving. I took no joy in the world slowly watching the facade I now wore eroding away slowly. Emerging from underneath was a more eerie creature that my mind could never comprehend. I learned everything on my own and discovered the powers of my blood over time through Trial and error.
We practice restraint and fortitude of our mind everyday. Yet sometimes it is rare that we come across a person who strikes us like none other. It is if they understand us, know everything about us. They rekindle a spark left over from our lifetime as being mortal. They make us feel alive. You want that person to be with you forever so you can always feel this way. NOW STOP! Think of what your saying. Think about what you are. Think about the Third Cannon. God gave us DAMNATION and the ability to pass on the CURSE to others. We are CURSED and DAMNED. Made to serve in God's name given his divine discretion to steer others back from a path of wickedness and self rightousness. We were not made to do what ever we felt like. To indulge our whims and fancies. Do not be steered away by mortal trappings. We are to watch from the shadows and strike from them as well. If you do choose to Embrace with wanton disregard or with passion. Know this in a century or so those feelings will fade because they are now just like you. Damned and Cursed.
Are you willing to do that? Ask yourself that. If the answer is still yes because you cannot rise above that mortal passion, shame upon you then. Once the deed is said and done and you lie there in your guilt and are racked with regret for your actions, the true test comes now. You must teach your Damned offspring the ways of what we are. You will have to sit there and watch as they are repulsed by the consumption of blood. How they may become racked with guilt at the tracking and striking there prey. You will have to be there as they loose to the fury of the Beast. You will take their sins as your own. You will feel the sting of the lashes you receive and each one will strengthen the guilt that feel. Making it way heavy on your soul. Pray to God for guidance and to Longinus for strength. Yet do not think that God will condemn you Eternally for this action, because remember you already are. There will be a day were you will look upon your Childe with no shame. You will see that he or she has become and upstanding member of Kindred Society. Then you will know that you have been forgiven for passing the curse of Damnation on to another innocent soul.
In closing I say please abide by the Third Cannon. Do not give the curse to another because you cannot control yourself. That is a step towards your Ultimate Damnation. If you do subbcumb to the temptation, please watch after your Childe, do not cast them aside because of your shame. Do not visit something on someone else that could very well end you and your new child: Spiritually, Mentally, and Physically.
