Once America's internationally acclaimed wartime sweetheart, pinup and USO performer Roselynn Ray left the mortal realm after a tragic plane crash in wartime Germany.

Settling in DeKalb, Illinois, Rosie joined the ranks of the First Estate; however, within months she became disenchanted with the Invictus and her leige, and ultimately decided to walk the Lord's path. Well spoken and highly vocal in her zeal, Roselynn seeks to inspire others to the Longinian way.

Sister Roselynn was known in her mortal life as America's wartime sweetheart during WWII, inspiring men (so to speak) all over the country and abroad. As a pinup model for Billie De Vorss in Esquire Men's Magazine, she moved her way up the silver ladder of fame, becoming a USO singer and dancer of international acclaim. Many years into her acclaim, Rosie Ray found herself in Germany, performing once again for the troops. After a one night stand with a German man, whom she later discovered to be S.S., she murdered and escaped to her plane, not long before her performance troupe was to leave for their next tour site. Tragically, their USO touring plane fell prey to enemy fire, plummeting to the ground in a wake of flame and debris. Roselynn, one of few survivors was pulled from the wreckage surrounding a German Cathedral and brought inside by Carlo Gialotti, who proceeded to embrace the starlet. Little did she know, he'd been watching.

After keeping her under his tutelage for one year, Carlo released his childe into the world, that she might seek out her own path and choose a covenant of her own. Rosie traveled for the ensuing sixty years, founding her own group of mortal performers, managed primarily by a ghoul of her own. Kindred life held little interest for her, and so she opted to focus her efforts on performance and mortal interactions, occasionally performing herself in the evenings. She toured the country seeking a place to settle down, but never resolving herself to a single location. Finally, in 2006, Carlo contacted Roselynn to see if she had established her home. Much to his dismay, she informed him that she hadn't yet decided, as she'd been heavily involved in her dealings with the mortal world. Gialotti gave her one year to find and set up haven in a single location and to begin rooting herself in Kindred society.

In 2007, Roselynn found herself in DeKalb, Illinois, deciding that this would be a fine central location to establish her business and force herself to focus on her Requiem. Not long after, Rosie approached the Baroness Audra Jetter, requesting that she be sworn to the Baroness and become First Estate. However, after several months of service to the Invictus, Roselynn became disenchanted with her chosen covenant and Leige, for reasons of her own, and approached the Lancea Sanctum. With a great deal of spiritual guidance from Bishop Sebastian, Brother Dante Browning, and Brother Augustine, Roselynn decided to forsake the Invictus for her new found path to the Lord and Longinus. Under the direction of her then Bishop, Sebastian, and her confessor, Dante Browning, she remained Unaligned for a time, suffering the ire of the First Estate and being labeled as an "Oath Breaker" by her former covenant. In October of 2007, she underwent a very painful and trying Creation Rite and Baptism before her new Sanctified brothers and sisters and was met with enormous support. After dealing with numerous sins and even an Inquisition for heresy, she has prevailed, gaining renown as an ultimately pious and fervent Lancea Sanctum. Roselynn has moved from Sister, to Reverend and now to Bishop of both DeKalb and temporarily of Chicago, and has earned herself the status of Valued amongst her brethren. Both diplomat and spiritual leader, she is a vehement converter of those who have yet to acknowledge their damnation and particularly of Carthians, for what better way to exact revenge for the deaths of so many Sanctified than to replace those lost with members of The Movement?

Roselynn is the epitome of style. Perfectly coiffed. Perfectly tailored. Perfectly suited for any occasion. With a sparkle in her eye, she is fiercely social and always at the ready with a song to sing and a graceful accompanying dance to compliment it. Rosie is highly vocal when it comes to matters of the Sanctified, although new to the Covenant and only recently reintroduced to Kindred society. Her social wiles have earned her the title of Prince's Harpy within the domain of DeKalb, Illinois, and the intense affections of many a visitor. Ambitious and motivated, Roselynn produced two sermons, published in the Diocesan Dialectic, in the first three weeks of becoming Sanctified and is currently working on two more. Her only downfalls are her inclinations toward the trappings of her mortal life. For no doubt, old habits do die hard. Her stardom lost overnight, she paid a dear price to inherit the Lord's purpose, and seems to often have trouble remembering that she is no longer America's Patriotic Sweetheart of the World War, but a seductive and lethal predator with duties to the Almighty. So it seems that immortality has caught the fallen star.

Now as a Kindred, she is multi-faceted, much like the gem she was in mortality. Roselynn is pious spiritual advisor, fervent proselytizer, fierce predator, and savvy Daeva. Bestowed within was a shard of her Luminarian host angel, Zerachiel, the keeper of children, but moreover, the watcher of those sinful parents who would pass such transgression down to their innocent children. In addition to her purpose as a predator of God, or perhaps, more specifically through her purpose, she was charged with showing sinful and abusive parents the errors of their ways, that they would shed their crimes in lieu of His Merciful Grace...but the light has perished and with that dimming glimmer fades the angel. No longer angel, now fierce predator. Calculating. Renewed in God's strength. There is only Daeva now...and servant. Wolf. Damned.

*1920: Roselynn Annette Ray born in Leola, South Dakotah to an Irish Catholic farming family

*1933 to 1938: "Rosie" performs and competes in local beauty pageants, earning herself many consecutive titles as "Queen"

*1938 to 1940: Rosie Ray discovered and begins career as pinup model, gaining national notoriety.

*1940: Is asked to perform with the United Service Organization (USO). Travels internationally, inspiring the troops abroad.

*1945: Gives up her chastity and commits murder. Plane crashes. Roselynn embraced.

*1945 to 1946: Roselynn is educated by Carlo Gialotti, in the ways of Kindred life, feeding and survival.

*1950: Embraces an up and coming starlet, now by the name of Mercedes - a lovely and delicate promising young woman in an effort to immortalize her. "She reminds me of me...almost to a fault, but she is near perfection. She must be preserved."

*1950 - 1984: Is given the chance to go out into the world alone, but leaves and neglects contact with her sire. Instead, travels Europe and then America over the years, following her mortal troupe of performers as "private benefactor", walking a delicate line bordering the Masquerade. Travels under the protection of future Bishop, Wyatt Riley.

*1984: Roselynn travels to Detroit, Michigan in pursuit of salvaging and revamping a failing nightclub and turning it into a chic club modeled after Studio 54. She offers to purchase it from another Kindred and during their weeks of talks, learns of his soon-to-be embracee named "Kat". His pride getting the better of him, he declines her offer and arguments ensue. He angrily tells her to get out, and she does, but not without stealing and soon thereafter embracing his "Kat" who Rosie views as trapped under his thumb and in dire need of some independence for once. Kat is embraced and somewhat educated, then set "free" to pursue her Requiem without fear of being controlled by man.

*2001: In a fit of jealousy of the life she no longer has, Roselynn embraces two childer somewhere in the state of New York. Fiona and Lilith, newly given their damnations, are enraged, and Roselynn abandons them, leaving them to find their ways.

*2006: After being notified by Riley, Carlo returns to set his childe on the right path once more and demands her to select a location for settling and Kindred interaction. Ray chooses DeKalb, IL and begins her active Requiem as Invictus, being sworn to the Baroness Audra Jetter.

2007: Is disenchanted with the Invictus and her Liege and is slowly converted to the Lancea Sanctum. Leaves the Invictus for her Baptism and Creation Rite in the Lance at the Synod in October in Tennessee. Anointed as Priest.

*2008: Undergoes Inquisition and Trial for the Menitrean Heresy, recants and becomes Priest in the Lancea Sanctum. Through hard work, self-reflection and piety, is Anointed Bishop six months later. Converts eight souls to the church in that time, saves one city from abyssal spirits and mediates an arrangement between two warring cities in Iowa. Also takes several students in Lance theology and tutors them out of DeKalb's Basilica. Conducts several anointings throughout the months.

*January, 2009: Takes a childe after several attempts to manipulate him out of his sinful ways. Performer Sparda Mundas, turned Raziel, is taken into the fold and proves to be an apt student, having understood and agreed to eternal damnation. Bishop Ray guides him in his new role as a scholar of the Lance. Grieves the loss of Bishop Wyatt Riley and learns of his childer...another Luminarian.

*May, 2009: Sister Kaytlyn Winterbourne is revealed as the childe of Roselynn Ray. Kaytlyn takes up service to the Church of Longinus in an Abbey.

*June, 2009: In a mysterious phenomenon, or perhaps in a punishment by God, Roselynn's "light" extinguishes and all of her Luminarian talents disappear.

*July, 2009: Is asked by Cardinal Sangiovanni to take the place of Sebastian, to become Archbishop and is anointed in Norwich, CT.

*January, 2010: Roselynn visits Washington D.C. with the potential to relocate permanently in the absence of Aroex (Father General).

  • Roselynn can emit pure sunlight and drive kindred away with the power of heavenly light.
  • Archbishop Van Der Hass claimed, before his death, that she was his brightest and most dedicated student, despite her penchant for occasional indulgence.
  • Roselynn recently saved the entire city of Mount Pleasant, Michigan from demonic forces with her powers of the light, earning much praise and renown in the Midwest.
  • She is a spurned lover of Evangeline de la Cruz. You know what they say, "Hell hath no fury like a Daeva spurned."
