The Order of the Sundering Fist

The Order of the Sundering Fist is the order of the Lancea Sanctum charged specifically with the location, tracking, and destruction of all things infernal and demonic, from malevolent spirits, to marauding cults, to the Brood of Belial and its Demonlords. The Order was long considered defunct and has only recently stirred under the leadership of the Prior-General Conrad Van Der Haas.

The Order is composed of Demon and Witchhunters, Exorcists, and other dread warriors of the faith, many move in secret amongst the various muling populations collecting information on cult activity and mysterious circumstances and happenings....from a variety of sources...from mortal police, gangsters, and politicians, to mages and even sources amongst other convenants....this ensures with so many sources that each peice of the puzzle can be confirmed and affirmed at every step.

As to its movements within the domains of others, agents of the order will of course address the ruler of the domain and inform them of there prescence but usually (this is handled case by case)) not the nature of there mission unless of course the ruler is sanctified or a friend of the Order. The Order attempts to catch these movements whilst the problems are small...before they can take root....if these things cannot be handled in such a low-key manner then the agent will inform the powers that be of the situation and make a call for assistance to the extended order...and perhaps the extended convenant should the threat be dire.

The recent loss of the orders founder has not slowed the Orders inevitible surfacing....it has been passed to the Prioress-General Charli of Kansas City and to the Prior-Captain Sariel St. James, with the mandate from the fallen Lord Van Der Haas to reform the Order and continue this work.

Structure of the Order

Prior(ess)-General: The Commander of the Order, leader of all major incursions and ordered Crusades in which the Order participates. This ranks authority is unquestioned, and will deal with the Bishops, Archbishops, and Cardinals petitioning the Order for assistance.

Prior(ess)-Captain(s): Leader of various teams or the senior most member of the order in a given area, be it a city, diocese, or region. Captains are charged to command forces during localized threats or minor incursions. Also will deal directly with the local Bishop or Spiritual leader directly. (Note for there to be a Captain over an area he or she must be charged with 3 or more Order members.)

Chaplains: Before the great battles against deviant cults, witches, and demonhosts, these persons are called to sing the songs of blessing and see to the spiritual maintainence of the Order, blessing weapons, reading of holy text and swearing new members to the Order. However, they do not merely support, for they to must meet the foes of God face to face.

Noviciates: The common warriors of the Order, trained in the arts of war mostly, but refined in tactics, theology, and occult...many are schooled in specific regimens from simple combat training to advanced and deeply spiritual rites of Exorcism. For the Order there can be no failure, no weakness...no mercy.

Special Equipment

Liber Demonicus: The text written by the Founder of the Order, written on the myriad of Demons and their various characteristics, also contained therein are prayers, litanys, and rites to cleanse the soul, to purify the endangered, to steel the shaken, and in the end dispatched the hideous foul heretics, apostates, and demons. Issued to ever Noviciate....a larger more indepth version is carried by each Chaplain at all times...and is usually borne like a satchel with a chain.
