Toku Yamamoto
From LanceaSanctum

Death is no foeman, we were born together;
He dwells between the places of my breath,
Night vigil at my heart he keeps and whether
I sleep or no, he never slumbereth.
Though I do fear thee, Knight of the Sable Feather,
Thou wilt not slay me, Death!

[edit] Reputation
Toku is known as being a very quiet but intelligent kindred who has little patience for politics and posturing. Well recognized as being one of only two Japanese samurai in US Sanctified gatherings, the other being his sire Heien (status 4), he stands out in a crowd. His simple, polite manner and openness tend to cause others to respect and trust him.
While not usually active in the politicking of the covenant, he is almost always at the heart of solving problems that the covenant are faced with when he is around. Working with several members of the former Curia on a frequent basis, he shows off his combat prowess in defense of the Sanctified. It is this mastery of the art of the samurai blade that led him to his former position as one of the Masters of the Ordo Praesidium Sanctum. He is also known as being a member of the coterie known as the 'Lotus.'
His participation in the political aspect of his covenant has increased exponentially, as of late. With the death of Conrad Van Der Haas of Indianapolis, someone needed to bring stability back to the region. Toku has taken the reins. Being annointed an Archbishop by Cardinal DuMont, Toku quickly began fixing the instability within the region.
Toku is also recognized for his skill at creating weaponry. His skills shine greatest when making swords which, when he is finished, are deadly works of art. The swords that he carries at his side at all times are his finest creation and, when seen, are obviously priceless. The trained eye will recognize them as being made of true Damascus Steel. Exceedingly rare, beautiful, and deadly; his swords are one of a kind.
Toku has also gained a knack as of late for matters of the occult. What this can be attributed to is anyone's guess but there is no doubt; if one needs information about strange occurances, it's a safe bet that Toku may hold some answers.
[edit] Rumours
- He's not a Deava anymore; he became one of the 6th clan.
- He's friends with some Crones. Some doubt if he's loyal to the Holy Spear anymore.
- Toku collects torpored kindred and has created a unique method of storage and reeducation.
- Toku's swords are the most deadly in existance. There are none on this Earth that compare...
- Toku is the only reason that Archbishop Van Der Haas was able to maintain his diocese as long as he did.
- He kills more Sanctified then anything else.
- He's openly a Sanctified and a Buddhist. Doesn't that make him a heretic?
- Toku is in love with an Invictus woman.
- Toku is actually a Luminarian. That is why he has been defending them!
- Toku has suddenly developed his own little army of mysterious, centuries old kindred.
- Is a dead man....and likely knows it....the loss of his library and armory is evidence enough that he is walking on borrowed time.
[edit] IC Quotes
"In order to ensure that you understand our little chat, I'm going to beat you into torpor with your own zombie's leg. Accept your punishment graciously." - Toku to one of his more wayward followers.
